Job DetailsDescriptionAvidity Science are looking for a proficient and highly communicative Buyer to join our Operations team, based at our company offices in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire (HP18 9BA) with a hybrid working option available.A salary of up to £32,000 per year is on offer along with a discretionary bonus and an excellent benefits package (see below).Applicants will need to have an existing right to work in the UK to be successful.Responsible for successful & innovative sourcing of product and resources required by the business’ various facets including for direct customer supply, components for the production line and sample components for new product development.Some of the things you will be doing if you join us:
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Raising Purchase Orders in-line with Purchase Requisitions and Inventory Demand
  • Raising part returns to Suppliers & working through corrective actions and reporting to Quality
  • Negotiating assertively, in line with organisational budgets and plans, negotiating complex and significant purchasing agreements, with support from Head of Operations where necessary
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and act on projects once agreed
  • Managing all incoming products and resources, excluding fleet resource
  • Collaborating with;
    • Commercial, Service & Projects to ensure supply against relevant forecasts
    • Production to ensure uninterrupted supply to the Production Line
    • Quality & Technical Support teams to ensure highest quality, correctly specified supply is secured
  • Completion of Supplier Auditing of new & existing key Suppliers with the Quality Manager
  • Assisting the Warehouse team to complete stocktakes and cycle counting
  • Support Engineering through the sourcing of samples & prototype product
  • Supporting the Global Supply Chain with localised sourcing and reserve supplies where requirements arise
QualificationsWe’re keen to bring new people and ideas into the team; we don’t have a list of mandatory qualifications or skills to be considered for the role, however, some or all of the following could be expected of you
  • Previous B2B experience in a similar role, ideally within a Life Sciences or Lab equipment industry
  • Relevant experience of sourcing for a Production Line/ Manufacturing facility
  • Commercially astute with the ability to negotiate successfully
  • Collaborative nature with full accountability for assigned tasks
  • A CIPS qualification will be a distinct advantage
  • Intermediate to strong MS Office skills
  • Detail Oriented, with strong communication skills
