Job description

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and experienced Butcher to join our award-winning team.

Denstone Hall Farm Shop has recently won several prestigious industry awards growing a business around producing great food in an inspiring and exciting environment. Finalists in the Butchers Shop of the Year Awards 2020 for Best Farm Shop Butchery & Winners of Best Large Farm Shop in the UK 2019. Our butchers source direct from our own and local farms and have built an excellent relationship with the local community.

We are now looking for a hands-on experienced butcher to join the team who shares our values and wants to contribute to the successful future of the department. You will need to have had experience working in a similar environment as well as good technical knife skills and knowledge of full carcass butchery. However further on-site training will be available for candidates with less experience.

You will also be expected to have excellent customer service skills as much of the work will be on the shop floor. This role will involve all aspects of day to day butchery, including:

  • Serving customers and delivering a great customer experience
  • Traditional butchery including full carcass butchery (beef, pork & lamb)
  • Value added butchery
  • Creative counter displays
  • Bacon curing and sausage making (not essential)
  • Stock control and ordering
  • Promotions and pricing
  • HACCP and Environmental Health
