Job Description Summary

Lumentum is seeking a Business Analyst to join our talented cross-functional team. This position will work in the Transmission Cost Reduction Team, whose mission is to drive critical and strategic cost reduction initiatives throughout the Transport product portfolio. With a complex and market leading group of products, there are many opportunities to make a difference. We are looking for a self-starter who to critically analyze data, prioritize activity, identify opportunities, and work with a global team to drive lower cost in all of our products.

What will you do?

• Synthesize, update, and project the cost roadmap across the portfolio; provide regular updates to the BU P+L and leadership team.

• Work with global components purchasing team and contract mfg team, to gather and analyze cost information, with the intention of driving to the cost targets we need.

• Work with internal stake holders in R+D and Sustaining Eng, to drive new design cost reductions, 2nd sourcing activity, test time reductions, yield improvements, and mfg process optimizations.

• Critically analyse the business needs, and work with PLM team to plan and prioritize cost reduction plans.

• Work with IT team to improve data integrity, reporting, and availability of critical cost information.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-5 years work experience

• BS degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or other relevant field

o Additional advanced degree MS or MBA is a plus

• Needs to be a team player, with ability to work effectively across functions, time zones, and international manufacturing locations

• Strong analytical skills, ability to create and edit complicated spreadsheets / databases

o Advanced database programming skills a plus

o Experience with Tableau and Tableau-prep is a plus

• Operations experience including (but not limited to): supply chain management, demand management, inventory control, etc. is a must

• Familiarity with semiconductor wafer fab operations (MES, process and quality control, change management, etc.) is a plus

• Experience with documentation control systems (Agile) is a plus

• Experience with industry leading ERP systems (Oracle/SAP) is a plus
