About the role
The Business and Leisure Economy curriculum area delivers business programmes from Level 2 up to Higher Education Level 6. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Business curriculum team, delivering both Higher Education and Further Education subjects. We are looking for an experienced individual who can deliver a range of business subjects on our Public Sector Management programme, which is validated by Hull University, but who is also comfortable working with young students on our Level 3 BTEC programmes.
About the person
The successful candidate will have existing business experience which they can use to bring business subjects to life in the classroom. They will be able to deliver a broad range of business topics but specifically we are looking for HE delivery of Economic theory, the Impact of Economic and Social factors on local communities and for Level 3 Business Programmes, International Business, Digital Marketing and English Legal System. Experience of delivery of Travel and Tourism subjects would be a real bonus!
A first degree in Business (or Finance) is essential for the role and since this role will involve some Higher Education teaching, a Masters degree is desirable. Ideally, candidates will already possess a PGCE/Cert Ed but should be prepared to undertake one if not already held.
The ethos of the curriculum team is to make business subjects fun, relevant and challenging and this includes sourcing extra curricular visits, guest speakers and work placements. The successful candidate will have tutor groups for whom they will have pastoral responsibilities. Therefore, it is essential that candidates have the appropriate experience and skills to work positively with young people and an understanding of some of the challenges they face, particularly post-pandemic.
