About The Role

Base Location: Flexible UK - Reading, Glasgow or Perth preferred| We’re proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base ’home’ location to be one of our SSE offices around the UK.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
  • Working as part of a wider Assurance and Business Services function, support the Solar and Battery delivery and senior management teams, to ensure efficient and effective identification/mitigation of all operational and compliance risks.
  • Ensure all relevant stats / KPIs from all enabling functions are collated and provided to senior management in a timely manner as part of all regular reporting cycles.
  • Develop, manage and assure robust Business Readiness Plans, covering all major dependencies/deliverables required for the business to deliver its strategic investment/delivery goals.
  • Proactively support high priority activity that improves the efficiency and/or effectiveness of key processes, e.g. process development; identification/implementation of innovative ideas; business continuity planning; Great Place to Work improvements.
  • Coordinate key Group-led activity within S&B, whereby a consolidated view of Enterprise’s performance/risks/controls is required, e.g. SSE’s annual Letter of Assurance exercise, covering all key risk areas and adherence to all corporate policies.
What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
  • Experience of working in the energy industry / or other highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of good practice around auditing and other Assurance methodologies.
  • Engaging with ability to plan and facilitate productive workshops.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities at any one time.
  • Clear and concise communicator, verbally and in writing.
