We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Support Administrator to join our Management Team within Adult Services Southampton based at Solent NHS Trust.

The role is to assist the Business Support Manager, Business Support Lead, Head of Quality and Professions and the wider Senior Management Team including the Clinical Director and Operations Director in the effective running of Adult Community Services.

We are committed to the work we do to support our management team and wider teams, and to provide a quality service for our patients. The successfully appointed Business Support Administrator will provide efficient, effective and high quality admin support to Adult Services Southampton. The post holder will develop skills, knowledge and experience in all relevant aspects of administration.

We are looking for someone who is keen to learn but must already possess good computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word. You should also possess competent communication skills, both verbal and written. If you enjoy helping people and are able to complete tasks with attention to detail you will be an asset to our team.

As an administrator you will be offered full training in the full range of administrative procedures required and you will receive full support from the Business Support Manager and Business Support Lead who have many years of experience working within the NHS and are looking forward to being able to support a new member of the team.

This post will be based at Western Community Hospital in Millbrook for37.5 hours per week

The Adults Southampton Service Line consists of Neurological services, Community services and Community specialist services. We specialise in providing high quality, best value community services. Job Responsibilities

  • The post holder will work as part of the Senior Management Team providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support. They will work without direct daily supervision, using their own initiative to work on specified tasks and obtain support and advice from the Business Support Lead when required.
  • To provide comprehensive administrative support to the service
  • To work as part of a skill mix team to provide a comprehensive administrative support service
  • To effectively prioritise and manage own workload and oversee workload of team as necessary, whilst maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy at all times, both independently or as part of a team
  • To work without direct supervision and show extensive use of initiative in prioritising and making decisions in relation to effectively supporting the smooth operation of the service
  • To carry out other duties as necessary to meet the changing needs of Solent NHS Trust, in accordance with management requirements and appropriate to banding
  • All duties will be carried out within the Trust’s Information Governance, recording, and data sharing procedures and guidance

  • Communication Skills, written and verbal.
