This role sits within the Design, Data and Delivery team which supports BEIS to deliver its portfolio of internal and public-facing digital services. The team is multidisciplinary and the successful applicant will be working with delivery managers, data specialists, user researchers and developers.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be collaborating with the Deputy Director, team members, internal and external stakeholders and overseeing a number of projects and operations. The role involves supporting the leadership team with delivering strategic business goals, coordinating critical meetings and completing administrative tasks.

The role offers a flexible remit, covering a range of duties reflective of the evolving responsibilities of the Design, Data and Delivery team and its team members within the Department.

ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of the role

  • Office Management: including diary management, email management, action tracking, ensuring effective use of the Deputy Director’s time and responsibility for ensuring the Deputy Director is properly briefed and prepared for meetings.
  • Management: Working with the People & Development team to plan recruitment, ensure effective onboarding and induction of new team members, succession planning and business continuity planning.
  • Coordination: Coordinating critical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engagement: Internal communications, organisation of team meetings, senior leadership team sessions and events such as virtual team away days.
  • Teamwork: working constructively with colleagues across the teams; building an understanding of the work of the senior leadership team and project leads, supporting and problem solving.
  • Corporate: building effective working relationships with colleagues in the Digital Directorate and Corporate Services.
  • Intelligence: gathering feedback from colleagues and stakeholders on the quality of services provided by the team.
