What you will be doing:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage the Business Intelligence (BI) team in the Group IT function. The team which predominately operates from the Wolverhampton site provides and supports data warehousing and reporting solutions across significant areas of the OSB Group business. The team comprises approximately 12 Senior Developers / Developers whose skills span the BI spectrum: ranging from complex database and SQL administration/development using Microsoft SQL Server, to inspiring visualisations currently delivered using TIBCO Spotfire.

Your responsibilities will include

The BI Delivery Manager role is a leadership role as opposed to a hands-on technical role, providing direct line management to a subset of Senior Developers / Developers. The BI team provide live support, small change and full project development capability.

The BI Delivery Manager role encompasses all aspects of team management and leadership covering:

· Resource Planning & Allocation

· Team & Delivery Management

· Performance Management and Staff Development

· Stakeholder Management (up to Director level)

· Team process development and adherence to standards

· Risk assessment and issue resolution

· Representation of the BI team in senior forums / discussions e.g. Steering Groups, Project Boards, Change Boards

· Developing the BI Strategy and then ensuring team alignment to it

Could you be the one?

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience/knowledge and qualifications set out below:

  • Extensive experience of managing a multi-site IT team, preferably within the Financial Services Industry.
  • Experience of IT software delivery management experience
  • Experience of undertaking recruitment, interview and selection activities
  • Previous experience of resource planning, management and allocation
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders at different levels of seniority
  • IT process development, management, developing technical roadmaps and strategy
  • Working in formal change and project management processes as well as working in a formal release process
