This role is part of the Business Intelligence team within the Parking Services, which focuses on creating impactful analytical and business intelligence solutions that help the service make better informed decisions.

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Business Intelligence / Data Analyst to join our dynamic Parking Services team. Working alongside other parking and environment teams, you will be engaged in analysing and interpreting complex data sets, allowing to provide valuable insights and recommendations for improving our business operations.

The use of state-of-the-art methodologies in data management is crucial in evolving the business going forward. To be successful in this role you need to be passionate about data analytics and data optimisation. You will be knowledgeable with the concepts of data analysis, modelling, and visualization.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and develop real-time and historical dashboards that empower data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilize statistical techniques and analytical methods to produce patterns and trends.
  • Communicate effectively and gather data from various internal and external sources.
  • Review current data flows and work processes; design and develop ways to optimize and automate them.
  • Ensure data quality and data protection in compliance with GDPR and the Council’s Information Management related policies.
  • Undertake any other duties of a similar level of responsibility as may be required.

Role Specific Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Proficiency in technology and tools for business intelligence, such as Excel, Power Bi, and Tableau. Familiarity with statistical analysis and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is desirable.
  • Experience in analysing complex data sets and generating actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of complex analytical processes and models.
  • Excellent engagement skills to understand business requirements and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple short, mid and long-term projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative mindset. You are proactive, self-motivated, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of business intelligence and data analysis.
  • Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, preferably with statistical, database or ICT elements.
  • Desirable experience in working with large multidisciplinary teams.
