Worley is currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager for the UK to join our Field Services business on a permanent basis. The role can be based either at our Grimsby or Hull

Key aims and objectives

  • Provide direct support to the Senior BD Manager at Worley Field Services
  • Support fabrication and construction business sales activities in line with the overall WFS growth strategy
  • Support the conversion of business opportunities into orders for the fabrication, construction, O&M sector, including the cross selling all services across the entire offshore EPFC O&M lifecycle within Worley group.
  • Support and lead in the growth of the local and sector customer and revenue base
  • Identify and win new customers and opportunities within WFS business sectors
  • Work collaboratively with Worley operations and business support teams
  • To have a continuous improvement mindset, identify gaps and opportunities for efficiencies
  • To ensure safe successful delivery of all activities within area of responsibility.
  • Champion for Worley purpose in delivering a more sustainable world and custodian for our Company values, ensuring these are at the heart of the operations / business

Prime responsibilities and duties:

  • commercial and contractual duties required to complete a sale/ bid
  • Identification of Leads and Opportunities that will provide Worley with a sustainable and quantities program of revenue growth with suitable bottom-line return.
  • Support the Sales team on both short- and longer-term opportunities for Worley Fabrication and Technology services including FEED, EPC and PMC opportunities - link into O&M synergy plays.
  • Support the win strategies focusing on digitization and utilization of Worley Global Integrated Delivery
  • Work pro-actively with stakeholders across Worley to ensure an aligned approach to maximise the benefit to all of Worley businesses.
  • Identify and attend new customer meetings, selling current and new services.
  • Manage key customer stakeholders in the delivery of own income streams and apply key account management techniques to ensure the company are held up as a benchmark partner in all our markets.
  • Maximise opportunities with current customer base to increase turnover for the department.
  • Understand client’s needs and propose new services to the management team.
  • Working with the Proposals function including input to tenders/bids and reviewing/approving documentation as required.
  • Where possible work as an active SME on projects to build out relationships and the diversified offering..
  • Monitor, measure, maintain and report with Worley customer success platform (CSP) aligned to organisational development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
  • Attend supplier forums and delivering presentations on services as required.
  • Representing the company at conferences, industry events, meetings etc. as required.

Experience and personal qualities

  • Fabrication and Construction industry experience is essential.
  • Experience of successfully pursuing and leading a variety of fabrication and construction related opportunities across regions and sectors
  • Strong technical experience working with clients on projects in the fabrication and construction sector.
  • Track record of business growth and strategy implementation.
  • Ability to be a ‘do-er seller’ working both outside and inside sales.
  • Strong financial and commercial knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrable record in the delivery of successful opportunities
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities.
  • Be a good motivator with excellent communication and people skills, a consummate developer of client relations on a sustainable and long-term basis.
  • Has a ’can do’ attitude and drive to ensure that quality is maintained throughout the business development process.
  • Very much a self-starter with the drive and enthusiasm to succeed and make a difference to the Operating Unit’s overall contribution to profit.
  • Good negotiation skills, effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective sales, marketing and PR skills.
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a creative flair.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Has the ability to work under tight time constraints with excellent time management and planning skills.
