CHL Mortgages for Intermediaries is looking to bring on board an experienced Business Development Manager, specialising in Buy-to-Let Mortgages. This role will cover North London and would suit a candidate based in London or North London surrounding arrea. The Business Development Manager will originate new business with high conversion rate of applications to completion ensuring targets are met for the designated region.
This role will be a remote based with travel across North London and occasionally head office in Fleet, Hampshire. The role would suit an experienced field sales professional with experience in Buy-to-Let Mortgages, we would invite applications form applicants from a brokerage, Financial services or wider mortgage backgrounds.

You must have the right to work in the UK. Any candidates that requires VISA Sponsorship in the future please be aware that CHL doesn’t currently offer sponsorship and has no plans to in the future, so your application should take that into consideration.

Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for managing a defined geographical area to achieve and exceed agreed targets.
  • Be the driving force in Identifying, developing, training and maintaining new key relationships.
  • Responsible for ensuring all records of key introducers are well maintained and regulatory obligations met.
  • Ensure key distributors are contacted regularly and analyse MI on performance stats including submissions/offers/ completions/declines.
  • Responsible for ensuring all criteria/product launches/changes are communicated and key introducers are kept fully informed.
  • Maintain a broad/well informed Knowledge of the mortgage market, criteria and CHL’s competition.
  • Fully participate in the Sales team meetings.
  • Take reasonable care not to put other people - fellow employees and members of the public - at risk by what you do or don’t do in the course of your work. Comply with H&S instructions from the company and ensure you understand and follow the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection requirements when dealing with personal data, making sure information remains accurate, is stored correctly and is appropriately protected.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise


  • CeMap / relevant mortgage related experience.
  • Buy to Let Experience
  • Previous experience in a field based sales role.
  • Previous experience working within the finance sector.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve results.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent Interpersonal /Communication skills & telephone manner
