440 - Business Development Manager
The role will be based at our Head Office in Southampton, some travel will be required.
£30k - £35k per annum + Commission + Benefits
Reports to Sales Director
My client, a leading trade body within the marine / maritime industry is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their growing business within their training department. This role is important to their general growth and the success of everything they are building as an organisation on their training side.
You will be responsible for both business development and for oversight of the development and roll out of new training courses as well as engagement with key stakeholders, developing relationships with both current and new business, and managing the performance of the training content developers (whether internal or external providers).

The Roles Key Areas Are

Working with the business supporting the overall business strategy ensuring outstanding delivery of training sales Engage with members to establish their training needs and promote the use of Apprenticeships and training courses Work with the business to design/implement the sales strategy to maintain existing clients and sell to new businesses Prospect potential clients with support from internal resources Develop existing relationships with members to generate new business Raise the profile and promoting training to new and existing client bases Work on the development of appropriate marine career pathways Compile and maintaining internal and external data on the internal CRM as required Negotiate and deliver local projects or contracts to meet customer or business needs. Attend internal and external meetings and product launches as required Work collaboratively with the business to ensure desired outcomes are delivered in a timely manner. Deliver monthly reporting and accurate forecasting of course sales, training delivery against financial targets. Maintain control of costs to ensure profitability levels are maintained within budget.

You Will Be Experienced In

Essential - Working within the vocational training sector Essential - Confident and personable with excellent written and verbal communication. Essential - Sales and Customer Relationship Management (minimum 2 years) Essential - Proven experience of success within a sales environment and achieving targets Essential - Good IT Skills with Experience with CRMs and Microsoft Office Desirable - knowledge of levy and funding streams
