Business Development Manager - Airfreight

Are you looking to make a real impact in your career? Ready to join a dynamic and global logistics network? We are looking for a proven sales professional to join our Air Freight team as a Business Development Manager.

Salary: Competitive + car allowance + bonus + benefits

Location: Ideally you will be Midlands based. This role will be based between home and office. This role will also involve regular travel to visit clients in the region.

What You Will Be Doing?

  • Develop a robust air freight sales pipeline across key sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, and Industrial.
  • Identify and pursue new air freight business opportunities through market research and proactive outreach.
  • Manage enquiries, RFQs, and tenders from inception to conclusion.
  • Collaborate with the Air Product team to craft customer-centric value propositions.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of our air business unit in the UK.
  • Present compelling, value-adding solutions aligned with DB Schenker’s standards.
  • Ensure new business is in line with our internal financial guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain influential relationships within potential major clients.

About You

  • Has a proven sales record in acquiring new business and exceeding sales targets.
  • Possesses a significant background in Air or multi-modal freight forwarding.
  • Has experience in managing large and complex tenders leading to significant opportunities.
  • Understands our key vertical markets, such as Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, and Industrial.
  • Is skilled at building trust and establishing high-quality relationships with customers.
  • Demonstrates effective presentation skills and excellent written and spoken English.
