We’re one inclusive, global family that’s committed to innovation in aerospaceDue to our continued success and our ambitious growth plans we are looking for an Analyst to join our Business Development team, this role can be based at our Staverton UK site or Chatsworth USA site.This role is critical to the success of Ontic’s global business development and overall strategic objectives through accuracy of investment and business models related to historical and future forecastsThis role is ideal for someone at the start of their career who already has some experience in a similar role gained in the Aerospace & Defense sectors.What You’ll Be DoingThe Business Development Analyst will assist the Ontic global business development team in creating financial investment and market analysis models for licensing and M&A opportunities, as well as other key strategic business initiatives such as the Post-Investment Review Process. The Analyst will help to develop financial and market models that fit within key Ontic financial and strategic criteria. Additional responsibility post-deal closure for helping business functions interpret investment objectives and delivering expected returns. This role is critical to the success of Ontic’s global business development and overall strategic objectives through accuracy of investment and business models related to historical and future forecasts.Main responsibilities:
  • Financial modelling and market/business fit analysis for licensing and M&A opportunities.
  • Market and OEM mapping and research reports
  • Maintenance and further development of Ontic market intelligence tools
  • Work closely with Ontic global business development to provide financial and strategic assistance for initial approval, due diligence, and final agreement development.
  • Create and help develop investment thesis papers for senior management to be used for project funding approval.
  • Facilitate strategic planning endeavours for senior management including internal and external research, analysis, and presentation creation.
  • Communicate and help implement key business case assumptions for senior management and other global business functions.
  • Ad-hoc projects for global business development, senior leadership, and other business functions.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
  • BA Degree, or equivalent work experience, in Finance, Business Administration, accounting, or Economics disciplines are desirable or equivalent exposure in the business function.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles and practices, business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, modelling, coordination of resources and return on investment criteria.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex information/data or concepts.
  • Appropriately use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Effective and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office product skills including Excel (Pivot Tables, INDEX MATCH, SUM IFS), Dynamics, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships between seemingly unrelated events
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work setting, situation, priorities or instruction
  • Demonstratable experience of creating and maintaining relationships at all levels
  • Ability to set realistic goals or make plans independently of supervision
