An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Preparedness Resilience & Response (EPRR) team of North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to conduct the role of the Business Continuity Manager.

The Business Continuity Manager role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Business Continuity lifecycle within all areas of North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) ensuring arrangements are well established and robust to ensure critical services can remain deliverable in line with Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) as well as meeting the requirements set out within the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).

The Business Continuity Manager is responsible for enforcing the Business Continuity Policy and ensuring adherence is made throughout the Trust to Business Continuity processes in particular the debriefing process to ensure good practice and lessons learnt is well documented and acted upon as necessary.

The role is a demanding and challenging role which requires an individual with strong organisational and co-ordination, facilitation and presentation skills to present a wide range of Business Continuity concerns to various internal and external committees. You will be expected to work calmly under pressure, handle challenging situations and matters and provide specialist advise and support.

Cross-functional working will be key throughout delivery of the role with organisational wide communication required.

Individuals should have a full understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), ISO22301:2019 – Security and Resilience, Good Practice Guidelines (2018) & NHS England & Improvement Emergency Preparedness Resilience & Response (EPRR) Core Standards.

You will also have the opportunity to be part of the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU) Business Continuity group and conduct national work with Business Continuity colleagues throughout the United Kingdom as well as consultation with other NHS bodies and eternal stakeholders such as Local Resilience Forums (LRF), emergency services and public and private organisations in developing business continuity capabilities.

The role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 week with an expectation (where possible) to be flexible to meet the requirements of the role.
