Salary: £36,836 - £48,648 depending on skills and experience plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

As an IT Business Analyst supporting our Distributed Energy business and supporting Project Managers in their day-to-day activities, you’ll be responsible for liaising between the main business and the IT delivery function; gaining knowledge and understanding of business scenarios and problems and documenting your findings in a manner that is unambiguous and relevant to a project’s stakeholders.

You’ll provide recommendations to solutions ensuring they meet the needs of the user and the business as well as being responsible for elicitation and analysing, specifying, validating and verifying requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Works with business system colleagues to clarify requirements, to plan implementation and to answer queries through the development process
  • Marshals and documents requirements for the subsequent identification of an appropriate solution and the detailed design of a business process to accommodate it
  • Undertakes business analysis projects and tasks under the leadership of a more experienced analyst or project manager
  • Plans, prioritises, manages and executes analysis work on multiple simple or individual complex projects in order to regularly achieve cost and timescale targets
  • Works with the business to understand and prioritise conflicting needs
  • Contributes to the execution of user system testing and to the test plan for projects
  • Undertakes personal responsibility for IT data security by ensuring that rules and practices are identified
  • Identifies and determines end-to-end business processes using standard methods
  • Presents business and technical concepts to process owners and business users
  • Identifies and assesses business and IT risk
  • Prepares succinct reports and communications that are tailored to different situations and audiences
  • Carries out in depth scoping exercises during the early stages of a work package to identify key issues of concern and to ascertain clear direction
What do I need?

To Be Considered For This Role
  • You’ll be experienced IT Business Analyst (BA), demonstrating experience and an understanding of both agile and waterfall projects.
  • Good understanding of our Distributed Energy business, you’ll be confident to facilitate workshops and participate in meetings with senior business stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management skills, creating and maintaining effective business relationships, along with your ability to relate IT developments to tangible business outcomes will be key to your success.
  • Be prepared to ask questions and challenge existing processes and methods, you’ll demonstrate process modelling (Visio or other) and ideally BMPN skills.
  • MS Office/O365, and be familiar with MS Project.
