SSE Energy Solutions delivers projects that are spread across multi utility disciplines and are continuing our rapid growth. In support of this, the Strategy team helps shape the overarching Distributed Energy (DE) strategy. This is continually reviewed & assessed, with the strategy team challenging the business units to ensure deliverables are achieved to deadline and strategic revenue/ EBIT projections are attained.
You’ll Work Collaboratively With All Verticals Of The Business (such As Distributed Generation And Storage, EV, Heat, Private Electrical Networks, Building Energy Management, Digital Services) To “plug Gaps Within The Business” – Supporting And Delivering
The Business Analyst is integral role which supports the strategy team and wider Distributed Energy (DE) business through its growth in a consultant-style approach.
- Design of consistent business process standards, change requirements, developments & improvements; encompassing business models and systems
- Research, scope, present and shape projects/ initiatives/ improvements, writing recommendations which consider risk and ascertain clear direction
- Manage small & large projects/ initiatives from concept to implementation through an agile approach
- Support the analysis & assessment of financial and operational modelling, as well as M&A opportunities
To be successful in this role, you’ll need commercial experience within the energy/ utilities market on projects associated with at least one of the following - Distributed Generation and Storage, EV charging, Heating & Cooling Networks, Private Electrical Networks, Building Energy Management, Digital Services.
A project management qualification would be ideal, and it’s key that you understand business change disciplines (organisational design, business readiness, analysis, modelling, risk, identifying capability gaps, planning & writing processes, IT system requirements, etc), using these to shape proposals and deliver the project lifecycles from concept to implementation.
You should be able to communicate, influence and manage the expectations of a range of internal and external stakeholders - at times making sure any technical information is presented accurately and effectively understood by the audience. This could be to support project approvals, facilitate stakeholders within the business units, challenge work practices, governance checks, M&A opportunities, etc..
