Building Works Supervisor (Prestige Projects division)

Working within a specialist building division based in the Southeast. We specialise in high end luxury residential refurbishment, deployment of advanced physical security measures, maintenance and small security enhancements on properties in and around London and home counties. The business has been in operation for over 25 years, and has an exemplary reputation, working within some of the most prestigious and iconic buildings in the country.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Building Works Supervisor to assist and oversee a small team of tradespeople undertaking refurbishment works, installation of physical security measures (strong rooms, physical hardening, locks etc), establishing discreet cabling and cable management routes for electronic security measures and carrying out maintenance projects within prime residential and iconic properties of heritage value.

Key areas of the role include planning and costing work, co-ordination of pre-construction tasks, scheduling work and deliveries alongside customer coordination, leading a small inhouse team of 4 experienced tradespeople, subcontractor management, project delivery, quality inspection and final handover, whilst providing project management reporting back to operational and commercial teams within the business.

The individual we are looking for will be experienced, personable and professional, and be able to converse with clarity and confidence to clients in the own homes and iconic buildings.

In return you will be welcomed into the company and become a key member of the management team, reporting to Directors. You will be expected to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinating and carrying out property surveys.
  • Review and design solutions to meet security requirements.
  • Support the project team by costing work and developing quotations and proposals.
  • Undertake project pre-start meetings to review planned works.
  • Order materials and organise labour to support project delivery.
  • Organise subcontractor quotes and manage them onsite.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Maintain professional high standards, at all times, in delivering work and communicating with clients.
  • Undertake work planning in terms of Health and Safety, liaising with the Compliance Manager to set out RAMS for work.
  • Ensure adherence to RAMS and be a responsible point of contact onsite for Health and Safety.
  • Ensure that all team members act in accordance with Company policy at all times in respect of customer requirements.
  • Oversee the construction team to ensure that they function efficiently, follow the correct procedures and that works are delivered safely and to a very high standard.

About the benefits / rewards:

In return for your hard work and commitment, we offer an excellent remuneration package including a competitive basic salary between £40,000 and £50,000 depending on experience. There will also be a generous benefits package in addition to the basic salary which will include a car allowance or company vehicle, life cover and pension scheme. Training will also be provided in accordance with your learning and development needs aligned to the role.

Requirements:
The suitable candidate will have long term experience in prime residential, maintenance, small project works or refurbishment and will have a hands-on approach to delivering projects. You will ideally have extensive trade knowledge and experience in managing multiple projects through the full lifecycle from design, quotation, delivery through to invoicing. The ideal candidate will also be able to commute across the Southeast and be prepared to travel further, if necessary, for short duration projects (typically up to 2 weeks). Candidates must hold a current driving licence and be a UK national.
Candidates must also be able to obtain, and maintain, security clearance.
Experience of contract management, team leadership, health and safety, carpentry, physical security or small construction works is desirable. The business is based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, but candidates are welcomed from any location that can easily cover the Southeast region.
