Building Maintenance Officer
My client is a provider of M&E building services, specialists in the provision of tailored and bespoke building services maintenance to a client base to include Government & Commercial environments.
A Building Maintenance Officer is required on a temporary to permanent basis to provide to carry out building fabric maintenance across a prestigious corporate building located in Birmingham.
The Building Maintenance Officer will carry out a variety of general building facilities maintenance to include (not limited to)
- Basic plumbing i.e. replacing/repairing cisterns, siphons & taps
- Water Temperature checks
- Emergency light tests
- Painting & decorating
- Basic tiling - wall & floor
- Assisting with moves & changes
The Building Maintenance Officer will supervise x 2 multi-skilled operatives and will perform and ensure that all building and facilities maintenance tasks are carried out in line with health & safety requirements, RAMS & Permits respectively and may also be involved in escorting contractors that visit the facility.
Please Note: This is a site based position and a vehicle is NOT included.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold relevant trade qualifications i.e. City & Guilds and/or NVQ equivalent and/or a relevant building/facilities trade knowledge and experience
- L8 Trained
- Experienced in carrying out all-round building/facilities maintenance i.e. plumbing, basic electrical, tiling and painting & decorating (not an exhaustive list)
- Experienced in carrying out building maintenance within commercial buildings i.e. office accommodation, corporate and commercial environments.
- The ability to pass a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check. Please do not apply for this position if you are likely to fail the necessary background checks.
- Possess a flexible, "can-do/multi-skilled" attitude & approach
Additional Information
- 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with 30 minutes unpaid lunch each day, on site for 8.5 hours each day
- Parking is available on site
