This role is for 42 hours per week, therefore the salary range is £41,900 - £60,000
What’s the role about?
Establishing an Engineering presence at a newly-acquired NDC which will fulfill 24-seven critical distribution site operations in a multi-channel e-commerce environment. Training and developing a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, setting-up engineering disciplines and ways of working to ensure robust legislative compliance and operational excellence. Recognizing talent and poor performance, tackling poor performance in an honest, ethical manner, applying current disciplinary procedures and striving for continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing as a Building Engineering Manager:
The Building Engineering Manager supports the Engineering Operations Manager in formulating, implementing and achieving the department’s business objectives and service level targets, delivering a strategic approach to develop quality and value engineering regimes across the network.
The primary role is to lead and coach a small team of Engineering Technicians and Fabric Engineers to deliver 24-seven routine planned, reactive and remedial works to building assets, infrastructure and fabric.
This relies heavily on meeting PPM service schedules and developing them to accommodate the restrictions of access in an e-commerce environment, whilst striving for 100% availability. Planned maintenance events and follow-up remedial work must present minimal compromise to the operation, coordination of any disruption being instrumental to success.
What you’ll already have:
Strong leadership skills
Associated professional qualifications – management or vocational (electrical/ HVAC)
Able to communicate effectively at all levels
Good working knowledge of Health & Safety
Regulations including MHASAW (1999) and CDM (2015)
Comprehensive understanding of application of Building Regulations and Welfare Regulations
What else can you bring:
Engineering, Building Services or Construction experience
IOSH / NEBOSH
CSCS Supervisor / Manager
IPAF / PASMA
Electrical or HVAC Qualification to Level 5/6 or equivalent
Working at Height-trained
Legionellosis / L8 Certification / Awareness
BEMS / Intelligent Smart Building Management experience
Energy management experience
ISO 9001 / 14001 accredited / qualified
Project Management – Prince2® practitioner
