We are searching for someone to fill a vacancy of ‘Build & Design Technician’ within our team. The position is based at our commercial premises in Oldbury, West Midlands, with remote working available on certain days.

Both full and part time is available (16-35 hours per week), based on a variable but consistent shift pattern, with remote working available.

£10-£15 per hour depending on experience, and skillset you possess, and technical background.

Full training is available within the role. Full time holiday entitlement & sick pay as standard.

Basic skills (all required)

  • Punctual & reliable
  • Willing to learn
  • Hands-on & good communication skills
  • Taking pride in, and taking responsibility for your work
  • Basic knowledge/interest in vehicles

Additional skills (advantageous)

  • Competent with low power (12V) electrics along with soldering skills
  • Background or experience with product design (industry standard or self-taught)
  • Background or experience modifying/customising vehicles
  • Background or experience opening/customising headlights
  • Experience with electrical looms – creating, crimping, pinning/unpinning connectors
  • Working experience within an engineering environment

Additional skills (extremely desirable)

  • Experience opening and customising headlights to a high level of workmanship
  • Background and experience with industry-standard tools, equipment, hardware & software
  • CAD software experience Job responsibilities
  • Modifying headlights to customer specifications using our range of available products inline with our defined processes whilst adhering to milestone & cost requirements
  • Product testing processes that align with company standards using our in-house tools, rigs & equipment
  • Keeping internal project management software up to date
  • Contributing to in house documentation & develop technical understandings of product lines
  • Support new product development from concept to production
  • Define and implement engineering processes improvement measures and activities that will improve quality and ensure cost effective production, enhancing customer satisfaction
  • Provide monthly progress reports of activities relating to projects undertaken
