Quality isn’t just a goal. It’s the whole point.

Bugsnag recently joined the SmartBear family because we’re aware of the same problem: Our customers are under a lot of pressure to deliver great software. But to compress lifecycles, add features, and compete in a world where ‘every company is now a software company’ is hard. And one mistake can mean their reputation, even future. That’s why it’s our mission to help. At any part of their software development lifecycle (SDLC), we provide the tools and discipline to focus on quality while streamlining their processes. So our customers can create and deploy software that works as designed – especially when it’s needed most. And we’re looking for people to join us.

Bugsnag is the trusted software stability "command center" for over 5,000 engineering teams worldwide, including Airbnb, Slack, Pinterest, Docker, EA and Microsoft. We process over 1 billion crash reports daily from 85,000 applications, and empower our customers to make data-driven decisions on when to focus on building new features, or when to fix bugs.

We’re looking for a Senior C++ Engineer to join our SDK team. You’ll work in a team of open-source engineers, maintaining and improving the libraries that go into our customers’ apps to capture the crucial diagnostics they rely on for debugging when things go wrong. Our SDKs are installed in thousands of apps worldwide and used by many big-name software companies. Our team is growing, and we’re taking on bold challenges every day! We’d love to see what we can do next with your help.

What you’ll get to do:
  • Help build and maintain our Windows, mobile, and games console open source libraries and associated tools on GitHub.
  • Design and build new product features and investigate new framework and platform integrations.
  • Work alongside, and review contributions from, other open source engineers in our web server and native mobile/desktop libraries.
  • Your background likely includes:
  • A strong background in C++ development (minimum 5 years), including significant expertise targeting Windows-based platforms.
  • Enthusiastic team participation with strong communication skills.
  • A systematic approach to problem solving and an eagerness to learn new skills and embrace new technologies.

Bonus points for:
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or other game development frameworks
  • Games console or mobile experience.
  • Experience with error monitoring, crash detection or performance monitoring libraries.
  • History of open source contributions or SDK/API maintenance.
