Applications are invited for the new post of Breast Clinician to work across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

This is an exciting new post and represents the opportunity to join the Breast Surgery team in a unique role to provide breast services to the population of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

You will be joining a team of 5 consultant breast surgeons, 5 consultant breast radiologists, a consultant breast radiographer, an advanced nurse practitioner, 6 breast care specialist nurses and a breast care support worker. Together, we diagnose and treat approximately 500 breast cancers per year.

Breast Services at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have a bright future ahead of them and you are invited to be part of that.

Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine will be supported.

Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.

Applicants should be fully GMC registered and have at least 3 years of experience at SHO level or above. MRCS or MRCGP are desirable, as is entry on the GP specialist register.

Welsh and/or English speakers are equally invited to apply.

Your role will involve the assessment of patients with breast concerns in a ‘one-stop’ clinic (where clinical assessment, imaging and biopsies are performed in the same clinic), full participation in the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and patient follow-up.

You will have dedicated CPD sessions to develop another interest, such as training in breast imaging, assisting/operating in breast theatres, developing a teaching program and educational qualifications, or another area of your choosing.

You will be fully trained and supported prior to having independent clinics.
