We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our school in Urmston as a Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club Assistant. This position is available from July and will continue into the next academic year. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing quality care and engaging activities for our students during their breakfast and after-school hours. The times are: Breakfast - 7:30-9:00 AfterSchool - 15:15-18:00 Responsibilities: Assist in the smooth running of the Breakfast Club, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students. Supervise children during breakfast, engaging in conversation and promoting positive social interactions. Organise and facilitate age-appropriate activities to promote learning, creativity, and physical development. Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, including food preparation and clean-up. Support children with tasks such as preparing their breakfast and packing away belongings. Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates and addressing any concerns or queries. Transition students from Breakfast Club to their classrooms in a timely manner. Assist in the setup and delivery of the After school Club, including organising activities and resources. Supervise and engage children in a range of stimulating activities during the after school hours. Support children with homework tasks and provide assistance when needed. Maintain an inclusive and nurturing environment, promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts when they arise. Ensure the club area is kept clean and tidy, following health and safety guidelines. Collaborate with the club team and school staff to ensure a consistent approach to student care.Requirements: Experience working with children in a similar setting, such as a breakfast club, after school club, or childcare environment, is desirable. A passion for working with children and supporting their development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children, parents, and staff effectively. Understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Basic knowledge of health and safety guidelines in a childcare setting. Ability to create and deliver engaging activities suitable for different age groups.
