Overview

This is a rare opportunity to join the Miele marketing team as a Brand Manager supporting growth of our Accessories & Consumables portfolio. Reporting into the SDA Category Manager, it’s ideal for someone early in their marketing career, but with the foundations and ability to apply market, shopper and customer insights to assess and identify category growth opportunities for the customers.

You will drive brand performance and attachment rates across the SDA, Laundry, Cooking and Dish categories by understanding market opportunity for growth, competitive dynamics, consumer insights and leverage commercial performance of Miele’s portfolio. As well as developing the UK portfolio, you will also help develop the Miele brand across the Ireland and South Africa markets.

You will be required to undertake competitor insights by assimilating data from multiple sources e.g. GFK, online information, adhoc reports, sales and pricing information. Distilling clear and concise analysis of market opportunities and Miele’s brand performance in order to formulate and implement competitively advantaged growth plans.

You will identify and rigorously apply consumer and customer insights to drive growth including core consumer targets that leverage Miele activation against moments that matter in the consumer experience journey driving brand awareness and retaining attachment consumers.

The successful candidate will help to develop the category strategy, identifying optimal brand positioning and selling propositions that are relevant, differentiated and win in market.

You will work closely with the sales and training functions to steer the appropriate commercial direction for the appropriate product categories. Develop strong retailer relationships particularly through Key Account Buying and Marketing Departments, ensuring that activity plans and marketing plans are in place to hit both short and long term objectives.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or have gone through similar learning and development internal training whilst working at a major brand.

They Will Also Have
  • Experience working in a brand or category team within a strong branded Company
  • Cross functional team working
  • Business and financial Planning experience
  • Project Management
  • Channel Distribution and experience of working with major retailers
  • Experienced working in SAP (Supplier POs/pricing)
  • Domestic home appliances experience is not necessary, but the ability to apply strategy across new markets is essential

Our Abingdon headquarters is conveniently situated just off the A34 and is a well-equipped, safe and comfortable place to work. With Covid we have switched to temporarily home working, however being in a reasonable commuting distance of Abingdon is essential for when returning to the office commences.
