We are currently working with the NHS to find a Borough Director to join their team on a temporary basis for 6 months to cover a career break.The role will be to cover the Bridgewater area, including Halton, Runcorn and Widness.
The Borough Director will have overall responsibility and accountability for the strategic and operational management of the Borough ensuring:
- The delivery of high quality services
- Operational and budgetary accountability for the management of services within the Borough including the delivery of Cost Improvement Plans (CIPs) and whole system recovery plans in conjunction with commissioners and other providers.
- Improvements are made in service and quality with demonstrable outcomes.
- Effective communication with the workforce and key stakeholders including patients and carers.
- Trust Quality and Place strategy is implemented.
- Integration of appropriate services in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
- The Borough Director will provide leadership and direction to significant strategic change programmes within the Borough including the delivery of Trust/local and National priorities in line with the NHS Long Term Plan
- The Borough Director will represent the Trust at external meetings and be accountable for the development , implementation and reporting of programmes of work to CCGs, Health and Wellbeing Boards, Provider Alliance and other groups.
- The Borough Director will ensure that robust strategic, operational and governance arrangements are in place to deliver high quality services in line with CQC standards and the Trusts Quality and Place strategy.
- The Borough Director will deputise for the Chief Operating Officer if required.
We are looking for a talented leader, with strong people management skills and the ability to develop and maintain communication with colleagues on complex matters, issues and ideas.
- Masters degree in business or related professional field or equivalent experience
- Track record of continuous professional and management development
- Knowledge and experience in the following areas:
operational management of multiple and diverse clinical services
Budget management including holding a significant financial resource
Human resources and workforce planning
Change management
Stakeholder management - Effective understanding and experience of, health and safety, diversity and equality and security policies and procedures.
- Well developed understanding of the strategic environment of the NHS at national, regional and local level.
- Experience of leading and negotiating a significant service change
- Commercially astute
Salary: £63,751 - £73,664 (pro rata)
Location: Bridgewater
Contract: 6 months
