Regina Industries provides a range of dynamic solutions from Plastic Injection Moulding, Tool Making, Machining and Tubular Glass Processing. We work across a wide range of businesses, with engineering expertise spanning over 50 years. The company is going through a period of growth as we are acquiring a company with expertise in single use Laboratory supplies with products for laboratory use such as blood collection tubes with variety of anticoagulants. This is the first time that Regina Industries has had the ability to provide a finished product directly to customers such as Research Companies, Vets, Universities and the NHS.

We are looking for a person with a science background that could comfortably operate in an environment in which they are expected to prepare anticoagulant solutions for use in blood collection tubes. The types of chemicals that are used as anticoagulants are Heparin (sodium & lithium), EDTA tri-potassium and dipotassium and fluoride oxalate

This person should also be experienced in operating automated pipette dispensers and analysing photometers.

Responsibilities include:

· Ensuring the Lab is kept in a clean dust free condition at all times.

· Mixing chemicals for anticoagulant solutions for the blood collection tubes.

· Ensuring the mixing and filling of chemicals is done with care and checked before use.

· Organise internal and external QC and calibration of machines and maintenance of equipment.

· Assist with Laboratory training for those who will be filling the tubes with anticoagulants.

· Ensure safe practices in the lab, including ensuring Regina Industries is compliant with COSHH regulations.

· Ensure efficient stock levels of chemicals and consumables.

· Ensure efficient stock management of completed substances whilst ensuring we use stock in rotation and have traceability throughout the processing of every product.

· Providing consultancy to the sales team if a new substance or mix is being suggested.

· Being responsible for the filling and QC checking of all batches of tubes processed.

Qualifications:

· A Degree in some form of Chemical Science is preferred, however, experience in this field and an understanding of laboratory procedure will also be accepted.

· Previous experience working in a Laboratory environment.

  • No weekends
