We are currently looking for a Bioinformatician to join a leading medical diagnostics company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Bioinformatician, you will be responsible for analysing both public and private NGS datasets and developing bioinformatics pipelines to aid with the design of the company’s medical devices. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your duties as the Bioinformatician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • You will play a key role in sequencing data interpretation and analysis.
  • You will collaborate with the R&D team on experimental design and clinical study planning, execution and reporting.
  • You will work effectively with your colleagues to establish robust data processing pipelines and other methods to analyse DNA sequences. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Bioinformatician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
  • PhD in Bioinformatics or closely related discipline
  • Proven postdoctoral/industry experience in genomics-based Bioinformatics work.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with NGS data, python/R and (preferably) experience of cancer DNA sequence analysis. Key Words: medical device, NGS, python, R, Bioinformatics
