Bid & Marketing Coordinator

Low Carbon Exchange Ltd is a leading renewables contractor based in Weston Super Mare, with a mission to reduce fuel poverty. We are PAS 2035 accredited and work solely in the renewable energy technology and building fabric sector. Our main objective is to help housing associations and local authorities to decarbonise their housing stock and reach their Net Zero targets. We install and maintain renewable technologies and improve the energy efficiency of homes by upgrading their building fabric. The social housing sector demands strict criteria of their contractors of which we have to bid for their existing and future business.
The Bid Coordinator role will support the growth strategy of the company. We are in a growing sector and have already seen more than a 50% growth in our business in the last 18 months.
The role is varied so we are looking for someone who is happy juggling a busy workload (eg. bid deadlines, general social media and marketing duties, updating portals, etc). We attend 3-4 industry exhibitions a year so this role will require periodic travelling/overnight stays to support this.
The job will be predominately split 75% - tender writing / bid coordination in order for us to win new contracts and 25% - marketing support to increase sales.
Main duties:
• Delivering contract winning bids through bid writing / coordination of the elements required to complete a bid.
• Analysing content of tenders, researching and orchestrating responses from all disciplines which can be used in formulating responses to suit the tender.
• Developing clear, well written bids from researched and orchestrated responses which convey operational, technical and commercial solutions in a clear and concise manner.
• Preparing written editorial content for inclusion in case studies, brochures, marketing materials, event invites and client hand outs.
• Interviewing internal members within the business to develop technical information contributing towards bid content.
• Creating social media and blog posts in line with our social media strategy / using Canva or similar software.
• Daily tracking of opportunities from initial notification through to submission via Contracts Advance.
• Information management of procurement hubs and updating internal databases.
• Management and development of the company knowledge bank for bid writing.
• Updating the website with news articles, case studies, etc.
• Attending 3-4 exhibitions a year and working the exhibition stand.
• Supporting Business development team in securing future business.
Essential skills required:

• Working experience of preparing or coordinating business proposal, Bids or tenders.
• Strong writing skills – the ability to produce copy and translate technical information into plain English.
• A proactive approach to work with excellent organisational skills, self motivated.
• The ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
• High attention to detail
• Good communicator and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
• I.T skills to include the management of customer portals, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• A reasonable level of business acumen
• Business related social media experience (preferably digital marketing in B2B)
• Experience with producing print media – brochures, leaflets, etc.
• Confidence to talk to attendees at events and explain the services we provide

Preferred skills but not required:

• Degree in Marketing/Business Management/Communications.
• Experience in social housing or renewable technology industries.
• Experience in working at exhibitions/conferences.
• Experience with design software (Adobe InDesign/Photoshop/Canva or similar).

We offer this as a full time flexible role, with the option to work from both, our Weston-Super-Mare office and home. We will support hybrid and flexible working for the right candidate.
