To take responsibility for the reporting environments in AdviserPlus, including for the in-house data warehouse, ownership of routing incoming data effectively into the data warehouse and creating accurate, efficient outputs to feed dashboard visualisations

Key Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the in-house data warehouse, including designing and maintaining the ETL processes, bringing new data sets into the data warehouse and optimising its performance.
  • To understand the underlying source data, relationships between database tables and how this data translates into management information.
  • To develop outputs of data from the data warehouse, principally through scripting SQL.
  • To design and build dashboards using a BI visualisation tool.
  • To provide effective data management for c. 25 corporate clients.
  • To introduce efficiencies in the MI Team by developing repeatable scripts and dashboards.
  • To be able to translate the technicalities of data management into plain English and, where appropriate, provide explanations to internal and external customers.
Essential

Education/Qualifications/Experience
  • Extensive experience of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Exceptional SQL scripting skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of data visualisation techniques and the ability to tailor these to different audiences.
Desirable
  • Experience of the Azure Cloud environment.
  • Experience of star schema and the Kimball methodology of data warehouse design.
Skills/Attributes
  • High attention to detail, alongside the ability to work at pace against tight deadlines.
  • Articulate and fluent communicator with a high level of written English, the ability to present complex information in plain, understandable language.
  • A creative ‘can-do’ attitude and preparedness to meet new challenges.
  • To have a pragmatic approach to problem solving with the ability to think quickly while often working on a number of different issues simultaneously.
  • A committed team player who is effective at working across all levels of the organisation as well as external clients
