We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join our team. The primary role of the Behaviour Support Worker will be to provide targeted support to students who may require assistance in managing their behaviour effectively within the school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young learners and contribute to creating a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to identify students who may require behaviour support.

Develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.

Provide one-on-one or small group support sessions to students, utilising evidence-based strategies to promote positive behaviour.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued.

Collaborate with teachers to implement proactive strategies to prevent challenging behaviour and promote positive classroom management techniques.

Monitor and track student progress, adjusting support strategies as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and provide guidance on implementing behaviour support strategies at home.

Qualifications And Skills

Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.

Strong understanding of child development and behaviour management techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the social and emotional well-being of children.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field would be advantageous.
