Behaviour Support TA Needed in Primary School

We are seeking an experienced, caring Behaviour Support TA to provide 1:1 assistance to a primary school student with low developmental age who requires constant supervision due to safety concerns. You will help implement a tailored behaviour plan to support this child’s unique needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to keep the student safe, on-task, and engaged throughout the school day.
  • Utilize behaviour modification strategies to encourage positive conduct and discourage running/absconding.
  • Help adapt lessons and activities to the student’s abilities while fostering independence.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and family to coordinate comprehensive support.
  • Maintain diligent supervision during transitions, recess, outings, and other times.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with children with developmental delays, autism, or behavioural challenges.
  • Knowledge of effective 1:1 intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Strong communication, creativity, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • The drive to provide empathetic, compassionate support to this student.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Subject to two years of satisfactory references
