JOB SUMMARY

A multifaceted role on the front line in providing high quality, friendly & fun beverage service to all guests of the speakeasy style whilst utilizing the unique The Luggage Room welcome. Tasked with the brief to always provide high quality, high energy and memorable guest experiences at The Luggage Room by ensuring orders are accurate and service is effective and efficient. Lives the service culture of a Neighbourhood bar where relationships and guest interactions are at the core of the operations. Responsibilities will include all aspects of the operational day to day running of the bar itself from preparation, cocktail crafting to table service. Further responsibilities are found in completing opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.

Our bartenders have the basics down, but are constantly on the look-out for new trends, micro-local offerings, and guests’ evolving needs. They are not just a beverage enthusiast but also the host of the venue. Their role goes beyond the bar itself to take ownership of guest service more broadly and do what needs to be done. The Junior Bartender will have a keen interest in bar culture and be receptive to new ideas and change, contributing to and embracing the Luggage Room service culture. They will build relationships with others across the hotel and in the community, to anticipate and deliver on our guests’ needs.

No matter what position you are in, there are a few things that are critical to success – creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, protecting company assets, maintaining confidentiality, ensuring your uniform and personal appearance are professional. The Junior Bartender will feel comfortable answering guest questions or concerns regarding the provenance, taste and appearance of the offering. The Junior Bartender will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time) and taking a hands-on approach to their work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for the Junior Bartender– to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time. They will partner with management in creating a team of individuals who will provoke unique experiences for our guests by assisting in the hiring, training and development process of our associates.

This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs. Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform are also required. Prior to employment, we’ll ask you to complete safety training and certification.
