BAR MANAGER

The Palace Hotel in Paignton is renowned locally for offering and efficient and professional service, with 55 tastefully decorated bedrooms, many with sea views. Our extensive food and wine menu provides the perfect dining experience for our guests and local residents alike. This 3* property is a real gem located on the main Paignton Seafront so is a hive of activity year round.

As the Bars Manager you will be responsible for working across all Beverage Outlets and for delivering excellent guest experiences. The goal is to maximise sales and revenue through guest satisfaction and employee engagement.

Location: The Palace Hotel, Esplanade Road, Paignton, Devon, TQ4 6BJ

Your Role

  • Meet and greet guests, organise table reservations and offer advice regarding menu and wine choices
  • Ensure the smooth running of the events and functions, in relation to the Bars service
  • Check stock levels, order supplies and prepare cash drawers and petty cash
  • Work closely with the kitchen and waiting staff to ensure a smooth overall operation.
  • Respond to guest queries
  • Always up-sell in the correct manner and promote any offers
  • Monitor and ensuring that all bills and tabs are paid, and to ensure that bills are presented and signed for.
  • Assist with monthly stock take
  • Execute plans for departmental sales, profit and staff development
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
  • Comply with licensing laws and other legal requirements
  • Follow and implement all existing S.O.P.’s
  • Attention to detail regarding all aspects of the job
  • Control of the existing operational equipment
  • Report works related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence
  • Adhere to food, health and safety standards
  • Maintain and strive to improve standards of service
  • Monitor and Maintain the cleanliness of the workplace
