The Firm
At Addleshaw Goddard we not only provide technical excellence and experience but, crucially, demonstrate real insight into our clients and what really matters to them. A natural choice for FTSE100 clients and their equivalents in other markets and for the best talent, our people fulfil their potential in an environment where they are developed and valued. We put ourselves in our clients’ shoes, as part of a team of effective business people as well as efficient lawyers.
The Group and role
Located within the Finance & Projects Division, our Finance Group has a strong (and growing) City presence and market-leading teams across the rest of the UK with significant presence internationally. The Group acts for a wide variety of UK and international banks, investment funds, alternative lenders, FinTechs and corporate borrowers. The Group as a whole has significant capability in Corporate Banking, Leveraged Finance, Funds Finance, Speciality Finance, Structured Finance & Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets, Real Estate Finance and Social Housing Finance, with 30 partners and over 85 other fee earners in the UK.
We are looking for mid-level to senior associates/legal directors (of counsel) across several banking work streams, particularly across our busy, successful and well-established growth practice areas of funds finance and structured finance, which are led by 6 market-renowned partners: Jeremy Cross, Angus Gill, Zoe Connor, Rachel Kelly and Carl Posern. Previous sector experience is not essential - we will train and support you. This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career by specialising in one or more areas of interest, being part of, and helping to grow, newer practice areas for the firm.
We require experienced lawyers who are comfortable holding the drafting pen, know their way around LMA facility agreements, intercreditor agreements, and market standard security documents.
Successful candidates will be:
- ambitious
- detail-focused with good judgement
- self-motivated and proactive
- confident in running transactions (with supervision and support available)
- confident in building relationships with and dealing with clients on a daily basis
- collaborative and good team players
We acknowledge that you will also want to demonstrate your ambition to move up the promotional ladder by proving your capabilities. We offer senior career development whereby the partners will support and help you to devise a business case.
At Addleshaw Goddard we not only have client relationship partners, we also have client relationship associates and we’d love for you to sign up. Offering exposure and the chance to develop client relationships from early in your career.
