The Bank post holder is responsible for providing comprehensive, efficient and confidential clerical support to the clinical teams using Caterham Dene Community Hospital, including Minor Injuries Unit and Caterham Dene Ward. Main duties in Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) are to receive patients, taking personal details, logging these onto the Urgent Treatment Centre and Out of Hours GP EMIS appointments system. On the ward, the ward clerk is responsible for providing a first class front line reception service, delivering a high standard of customer care to a wide range of client groups, including the wards multi-disciplinary team, patients, their relatives and carers. They play a proactive role in collecting, investigating, verifying and recording a high standard of patient demographic and treatment data.

By undertaking effective forward planning to ensure that the administrative needs of the Bed Based Care service are met, they must carry out on a range of effective administration processes to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. These duties do not require direct supervision on a day-to-day basis. The Ward Clerk / Administrative Team work early and late shifts to cover from 08.00 to 18.30 and the rota includes Bank holidays and weekends. The MIU Administrative Team work 08.00 to 20.00 or an early or late 6 hour shift.
