An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Extended Access team for a Bank Health Care Assistant.

Extended Access / Extended Hours services provide appointments to Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre patients in the evenings and weekends when traditionally many GP Practices are closed. We are currently operating our services from Fleetwood, Garstang, Over Wyre, Kirkham, Ansdell, Beachwood and Freckleton. Some people work across all locations whilst some people work from a preferred location.

Patients are able to book an appointment to access this service via their own GP Practice or by calling the designated patient phone line. Appointments are available with a variety of health care professionals including GP’s, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants.

The post holder will work in the Extended Access / Extended Hours provisions supporting the team by fulfilling the agreed tasks.

The range of appointments offered will be aligned to the qualifications and competencies and may include:

  • Swabs (wounds)
  • Removal of sutures and staples
  • Venepuncture
  • Wound care
  • Ear Syringing
  • Routine ECG’s
  • Spirometry
  • Routine chronic disease reviews
