Bakery on the Water and Bakery on the Hill are independent, family-run, artisan bakery businesses that has been trading since 2013. This full time role will be mostly based at the Bourton on the Water bakery.

We hand-make and bake fresh bread, pastries, cakes, quiches and many more delicious products throughout the day, 7 days a week, with a passion for traditional and quality bakery produce. We use tried & tested recipes but always welcome new products and ideas.

The work is fast paced for much of the day so it’s essential that it is carried out quickly but with good attention to detail. Working closely with the Counter Team Leader, the main focus of the day is to maintain a supply of freshly baked bread, pastries & savouries to keep pace with the demand from the bread and Café customers. In addition there will be ordering of ingredients and packaging, cleaning the equipment & bakery area at the end of the shift and ensuring that preparation for the next day is fully completed.

The ideal candidate must have some bread baking experience gained in either an artisan or in-store bakery however full support and training will also be given. Some food service experience would also be useful. They will need to be reliable, friendly and customer-focused and someone who really enjoys working within a small team.

The start time is 4.30am so there is no night baking as all the bread is made during the morning for freshness. The day finishes at 2pm over a 5 day week Sunday - Thursday. Alternatively, this could be a 4 day role starting at 4.30am and finishing at 5pm in the winter, 6pm in the summer.
