You will be an important part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of project work in and around the North. There is also the opportunity to work on international signature projects. We are looking for like-minded and personable people to join and strengthen our Hospitals Spearhead team.The successful candidate will join our growing spearhead team and be responsible for client liaison, business development, key account management and delivery of advisory and design solutions to the healthcare sector, focussing on the North but with opportunities to work internationally, as well as throughout the UK. We offer flexible working arrangements with candidates able to work from home and our Manchester, Leeds, Chester or Birmingham offices. We have an exciting range of ongoing projects including Hillerod Hospital Denmark, Cambridge Children’s Hospital, Park House AMHU Manchester & Bradford Teaching Hospital.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
  • Lead and develop the team of Structural Engineers, within the Hospitals Spearhead
  • Manage your own projects
  • Undertake and oversee design work from concept through to detailed design ensuring technical excellence, maintaining outstanding levels of client service at all times
  • Act in the capacity of structural engineering project manager, to allocate resource appropriately and co-ordinate the tasks so all deadlines are met
  • Attract talented recruits to grow a skilled, dynamic, efficient and highly regarded Hospitals Spearhead Team
  • Liaise and interact with other UK Structural Engineering teams to optimize workload and capacity
  • Support Key Accounts
  • Produce high quality fee proposals
The key deliverables over the first 12-24 months for this role will be:
  • Raise the profile and reputation of Ramboll’s Hospitals Spearhead multi-discipline capability in the North
  • Develop new opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Win and deliver projects profitably and to the satisfaction of our clients
  • Enhance and maintain the delivery of sustainable, zero carbon, innovative and high- quality advisory and design services to our Clients
  • Market our multi-discipline capability via networking, business to business meetings, seminars, thought leadership and general business development

  • A proven track record within your core discipline and a working knowledge of complimentary disciplines
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Membership of IStructE or ICE
  • To be a Chartered Engineer or be working towards CEng status.
  • To have excellent project management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects of varying size/complexity
  • To have an appreciation of project commercial and technical risks

  • You demonstrate first rate attention to detail and show pride in the work you produce

  • You are able to work autonomously on all technical aspects of your discipline and to be able to direct more junior engineers across all disciplines
