The postholder will:


  • Process a designated range of tests and carries out technical procedures on patient samples using a range of scientific measurements and complex equipment
  • Be trained to operate and maintain complex equipment.
  • Participate in training of less experience personnel.
  • Be experienced to a minimum level of HND in Biomedical Sciences, a science degree would be desirable or a minimum of two years experience as a Healthcare Science Support Worker (Higher grade) with evidence of training and applied knowledge of a wide variety of laboratory procedures with commitment to further educational development to HND level
  • Attend courses, training on new instrumentation.
  • Have I.T. skills.

  • Pathology based posts will receive, store and discharge deceased patients in the mortuary.
