Job Location:Buckinghamshire (Commutable from Amersham, Chesham, Watford, Slough, Aylesbury etc.)

Job Salary:Up to £31,000 depending on experience

We are currently working with a leading scientific communications and medical publishing company in Buckinghamshire who are looking to expand their team and hire an Associate Medical Editor. The company deliver clinical news, medical information and guidelines to healthcare professionals throughout the UK. The company pride themselves on the accuracy and quality of clinical and medical materials produced for their clients, so they are looking for someone with excellent proofreading and editing skills to join their expanding team. Job Responsibilities

The Associate Medical Editor will be the in-house editorial lead on a variety of educational and promotional projects for pharmaceutical clients. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of different project types including printed articles, animations, videos, webinars as some examples.

  • Liaising with key opinion leaders in the healthcare industry to produce high quality content
  • Copy editing, restructuring, rewriting content
  • Fact-checking and proofreading content at all stages to ensure accuracy
  • Writing copy including content of emails, author briefs etc.
  • Working with freelance medical writers
  • Communicating with pharmaceutical clients and liaising with the sales team, account managers and project managers
  • Attending internal and client meetings to discuss projects with clients

Job Requirements

  • A BSc, MSc or PhD in Life Sciences
  • Experience of working in a similar role for a Medical Communications, Publications or Healthcare Agency
  • Excellent development editing, copy editing and proofreading skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong time management and communication skills
