Application Deadline:26 September 2023Department:EAU Short CoursesEmployment Type:Part TimeLocation:Bath - Newton ParkCompensation:£19.04 / hourDescriptionTo undertake teaching, assessment and classroom administration associated with the delivery ofundergraduate modules in the Short Course Unit.About The RoleTo undertake teaching (lectures, practicals, seminars, discussion groups and tutorials asappropriate)Supporting undergraduate students in groups, individually and in online environmentsMark assessments associated with teaching and attend required assessment and examinationmeetings as required.Administration in accordance with Short Course Unit practice (e.g. Monitoring studentattendance, written feedback on coursework, maintaining marking lists)Contribute to syllabus planning in relevant modulesTo undertake professional updating in the relevant subject areaHave due regard for health and safety in the workplaceAbout YouAny other responsibilities determined by theQualifications/Experience:Essential:
  • A good first degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Desirable:
  • Already hold or be pursuing a higher degree in a relevant area.
  • Prior experience of different teaching methods and/or experience of university level teaching
  • A Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education
Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowshipSkills & KnowledgeEssential:
  • Demonstrate in-depth subject knowledge appropriate to the role
  • Excellent communication skills appropriate for teaching undergraduates with a wide variety
of backgrounds
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a small team.
  • Ability to manage own time with limited supervision.
  • Excellent organisational/administrative and IT skills
Desirable:
  • Awareness of issues in learning and teaching in HE.
  • Experience of virtual learning environments in supporting learners.

Additional InformationPart Time - 20 hrs Maximum a month

Salary - £19.04 per hour with 2.5 multiplyer
