The Team

The Birmingham Real Estate team work with household names on Real Estate transactions including but not limited:

  • Acting for Hammerson PLC on all of their UK retail shopping Centre portfolio (including Bullring, Oracle (Reading), Cabot Circus (Bristol), Highcross (Leicester), WestQuay (Southampton))
  • Acting for HS2 on numerous site acquisitions
  • Acting for Landsec on the development and asset management of their retail portfolio (including their 5 factory outlet schemes - Gunwharf Quays, Clarkes Village, Braintree Village and others)
  • Acting for numerous public sector clients on major infrastructure and regeneration projects
  • Redevelopment, sale and letting of Grand Central Birmingham
  • Forward funding and development of Nikal’s Exchange Square site in Birmingham (which included the biggest Build to Rent deal outside of London)
  • Acting on all aspects of the Friargate mixed use development scheme in Coventry
  • Acting for Midland Land Portfolio
  • Acting on the redevelopment of Paradise Circus
  • Acting on logistics site and rail freight terminals

The successful candidates workload will be split between acting on asset management and development agreements for lease for Hammerson and Landsec and being part of the team acting on investment and development sites for local and national developers and investors.

The Role

As part of this role you can expect to be involved in:

  • Managing your own caseload from start to end with support of senior team members if required;
  • Supervising and developing more junior colleagues;
  • Act on housing regenerations projects;
  • Advising clients on a number of transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, leases, etc;
  • Drafting funding agreements;
  • Asset management for both landlord and tenant;

Skills and experience:

To be successful in this role you will need to hold the following skills and experiences:

  • Minimum 3 year PQE in real estate;
  • Team player;
  • Highly organised;
  • Strong communicator;
  • Able to build strong relationship with clients and intermediaries;
  • Positive ‘can do’ approach;
  • Highly motivated and able to stay calm under pressure;
  • Excellent IT skills in a range of Microsoft packages;
  • Strong A-levels;
  • Awarded a 2.1 at degree level;
  • Successfully completed a training contract or alternative qualifying route;
