Job Description_
Client Management_

  • You will be responsible for managing client accounts and providing senior counsel alongside Directors on all strategic matters relating to the client and their industry.
  • You will be responsible for identifying and resolving any client / budget / team issues in a timely manner.

Financial management

  • Work alongside Directors to manage budgets, staffing and servicing levels to ensure continued profitability and utilisation on accounts.
  • Overseeing that clients are invoiced correctly, billability of account team members consistently recoverable and budgets and expenditure closely tracked.

Team management

  • Hold regular account review meetings with the account team (and with wider experts where applicable) to ensure client service standards are maintained.
  • Responsible for motivating internal teams and leading by example; ensuring existing and new team members are effectively inducted, trained, developed and motivated to deliver the best work for our clients.
  • Line management and mentorship of junior team members

Strategic Thinking

  • Setting the strategy and plan for communications programmes and leading MSL’s internal account teams to deliver these programmes successfully.
  • Proactively plan and develop strategies and contribute strategic insight into the handling of client issues and crisis, providing direction to both the client and the team.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and ability to sell in programs with a strong consumer health component
  • You will leverage MSL’s internal experts in order to upsell services to existing clients across the business.
  • Demonstrate your ability to present strategy and plans at client management team meetings.

Agency Ambassador

  • You will act as an ambassador for the division and for MSL as a whole by proactively developing relationships - both internally and externally with key industry figures - to help raise MSL’s profile.
  • As a member of the team, you will support local teams across the UK, ensuring they manage local client relationships and deliver best-in-class work in line with the MSL standards

Qualifications*
Previous experience: *

  • Senior level experience in a similar environment.
  • Business focused approach and fundamental understanding of how a large organisation operates.
  • Experience at managing multi-stake holder accounts.
  • Personal qualities and skills: *
  • Experience in similar roles within a large communications agency environment and working across large accounts.
  • Proven strategic and creative ability to develop campaigns.
  • Proven ability to think creatively to resolve strategic challenge.
  • Strong finance management and budgeting skills.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with proven ability to manage and inspire people internally and externally.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • A good understanding of social media platforms and ability to advise clients on digital strategies, content and measurement.
  • Demonstrating the ability to grow existing business.
  • Ability to always add value and make a real difference.
  • A great communicator and collaborator, with people of all levels.
  • Commercially astute, able to deliver a good margins, negotiate and formalise appropriate budgets.
  • Self-aware, shows personality, challenges when appropriate, works well with others and leads by example.
  • Proven ability to positively manage people and teams, internally and externally to achieve the very best results.
  • A proven team player, with the ability to empathise with clients and remain flexible in achieving the appropriate outcome.
