Project:

As Associate Director you will head up a small team of cost managers onsite in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire (working onsite) as part of a £4bn national defence construction programme. This work forms part of a five year programme to deliver new build assets for the military establishments. You will be instrumental in delivering a major construction programme using NEC3 in a secure construction environment.

  • Conducting feasibility studies, business cases and writing procurement reports.
  • Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project.
  • Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
  • Ensuring that post contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
  • Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
  • Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  • Being in attendance at meetings and active participation.
  • Being a key interface with client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Providing line management and overseeing the recruitment.

About you

You have a bachelor’s degree and a member of a relevant institute. You have a track record of delivering work for public or defence sector clients in a post contract environment. You have good working knowledge of NEC3. You have experience in negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
