Within our Science, Technology and Medical Journals (STMJ) group, we are looking for Associate Content Acquisition Specialists to join our team. You will work with our journals publishing teams to grow and strengthen a group of academic journals within a specific subject area. This entry-level position is a great opportunity to serve the research community and pursue a career in publishing.

Responsibilities

You will manage the end to end publication process of special issues and work with guest editors and authors to ensure a successful publication. You will work closely with the Content Acquisition Lead and publishers to maintain a healthy pipeline of special issues for a portfolio of journals.

Key Result Areas

Project manage high quality Special Issues, working with both guest editors and authors Through effective communication, build and maintain relations with editors, (potential) guest editors and authors, as well as work closely with the content acquisition marketing team Drive growth of the assigned journal portfolio by growing quantity and quality of special content in line with portfolio strategy Deliver positive contribution to overall team performance and process improvements

What you should bring

  • Minimum University degree, preferably M.Sc/MA level
  • Good understanding of the academic publishing process. Experience of authoring and the peer review process would be helpful, but not essential
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to connect with a broad range of people, as well as work well independently
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Flexible, analytical and proactive, with the ability to think critically about a wide range of research issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
