Assistant Working Farm Manger - Poultry

We are looking for an exceptional ‘All Rounder’ for our family run poultry farm in Berkshire.

This position may suit somebody just starting out in the Poultry Industry or a very experienced individual. The most important things are enthusiasm, the willingness to learn, to fit into the existing team, to work hard and have a sense of humour! If this sums you up - please apply!

The farm is a 26,000 multi aged Free Range laying farm. Additional eggs are brought in from nearby producers. All eggs are produced, graded and packed on the farm. The eggs are then sold within a 30 mile radius to a range of shops, local markets, the catering trade and food wholesalers.

We are seeking an enthusiastic hard working ‘All Rounder’ to strengthen our existing team.

We are looking for a hard working team player. This is a permanent position and we are looking for somebody who will consider it as a career, be very much a team player and who really wants to be involved with all aspects of the business.

The job will involve grading, packing, delivering, and sales. It will also involve all aspects of hen husbandry. No day is the same!

There will be weekend work.

The person must speak very good English, be smart to do deliveries and be able to lift heavy boxes.

The position is available from 2nd May 2022.

Main Duties in no particular order:

· Egg grading, packing, loading vans for deliveries

· Supervision and training of packing station staff

· Managing stock control

· Assisting with picking and packing of customers orders

· Vehicle loading and unloading

· Deliveries

· Ensuring health and safety requirements are met

· Insuring the SALSA accreditation is maintained

· Record keeping

· Invoicing customers

· Farm work

· Occasionally Running Market Stalls

Person Specification

· Keen attention to detail

· Good standard of numeracy

· High level of dexterity

· Positive ‘can-do’ attitude

· Safety conscious

· Ability to work fast while maintain accuracy

· Possess the willingness to learn improve and adapt

· Communicates well
