“AmcoGiffen is looking to recruit an Assistant Telecoms Installer to support the telecoms Installer’s and Telecoms Testers on various projects throughout Scotland. To be considered for this role it would be preferable if you have current or previous experience of working in the Railway / Telecoms industry”.

Business Unit

The AmcoGiffen Scotland business unit is a busy and fast paced project environment involving a range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects, working for a varied range of clients including Network Rail, Local Authorities, Scottish Canals, national power and transport maintenance suppliers.

Projects can typically include civil engineering works and infrastructure projects such as:

Rail assets incl. bridges, footbridges, tunnels, underbridges, flood alleviation / repairs, embankments, station platforms, M&E, E&P and telecoms etc.

We currently have a number of live infrastructure projects and long term renewals and maintenance frameworks underway including Civils Asset Management (CAM), Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF) and Telecoms framework.

The Role

AmcoGiffen is looking to recruit an Assistant Telecoms Installer to support the telecoms Installer’s and Telecoms Testers on various projects throughout Scotland predominantly in a rail environment. The position requires a candidate with previous experience of telecoms projects/frameworks and ideally in a rail environment. Day to day you will be involved in works/responsibilities including but not limited to:

SISS (Station Security & Information Systems)

• CCTV Cameras & Control equipment.

• PoE equipment, including CAT5 OR CAT6 cabling.

• Public Address systems

• Customer Information Systems (CIS Displays)

• WAN / LAN

• Copper cabling – Terminating & Testing.

• Fibre optic Cabling – Splicing & Testing.

Opps Comms (Operation Comms)

• Signal Post Telecoms

• Concentrators

• DOO (Driver Only Operation)

• FTN (Fixed Telecoms Network)

Requirements

To be considered for this role it would be preferable if you have current or previous experience of working in the Railway / Telecoms industry.

PTS
IRSE License/ Assistant License (or working towards)
Full UK Driving License
NC Electrical Engineering (or working towards)
