To provide a high quality, efficient General Office and Reception function, and the provision of Bereavement Service Co-ordinator duties, adhering to the Standing Financial Instructions of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.

The supervision of General Office Assistants/Receptionists and Facilities Support Officers

Undertake duties associated with the handling of Death Certificates and liaise with the Medical Staff, Ward Staff, Mortuary Staff, Harrogate Registry Office, Coroners Officer and Undertaker as appropriate

Liaise with Wards, Chaplains, Mortuary, Undertaker and Parents in relation to the death of infants/children and assist the Parents with the arrangements of the funeral.

Provide a sympathetic service to the relatives of the deceased & advise of collection of certificate & property, registration & any other relevant matters

Ensure adherence to the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions

Be responsible for the handling and receipting of cash, in relation to vending machines, café Bistro, traveling expenses, patients valuables and property and all other cash transactions through the General Office.

Be responsible for the receipting of cheques received through General Office and from Finance

Organise the rota for the staffing of the Main Hospital Reception

Provide Reception cover in the absence of Receptionists

To manage the General Office staff on a day to day basis, allocating tasks, roles and responsibilities

Managing attendance, return to work interviews

Conducting Appraisals

Deal with public enquiries to General Office

Be responsible for the booking of meeting rooms

Be responsible for the maintenance of the central register of staff car parking details

Maintaining Front of House environment and facilities.
