An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced, committed and flexible Assistant Psychologist to work within our vibrant and forward-thinking Department of Clinical Health Psychology based at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro. People and professional development are core principles in the Department and support will be provided to ensure the effectiveness of Assistant Psychologists within the team. The Department of Clinical Health Psychology provides a range of services across the lifespan for Inpatient, Outpatient and Medical and Surgical pathways.

The successful applicant will be working alongside our Clinical Health Psychologist for the Adult Critical Care Unit (CCU), who will provide clinical supervision and line management for the role. The post holder will be a valued member of the CCU multidisciplinary team.

The provision of Clinical Health Psychology within CCU represents a new service line established in January 2021, and the post-holder will support an exciting stage of shaping service provision to meet the psychological needs of patients, families and staff. The successful applicant will be fully integrated within the CCU multidisciplinary team, providing psychological intervention for patients and families within CCU, and follow up care on inpatient wards within Royal Cornwall Hospital as part of our outreach provision. There may also be opportunities for outpatient psychological intervention. You will support the development of systemic ways of working to promote psychologically informed care within CCU.
